Compare Chilemba to a more known fighter. How good is this guy?

He has a trick style and he's rated in the top 10 in the division right now.
And he's 10x better than Brand. The only reason I bring up Brand is because someone commented that Chilemba is just as bad as Brand which is complete BS.
Say what you want about Chilemba, but he's way better than Brand.

Never been too impressed with Chilemba. He's not aggressive enough, his workrate can be dismal and he has zero power. For Kovalev, I think this fight will be a walk in park.

He is a solid veteran but nothing special. Can box but lacks power and speed you see at the top level. I think Jennings is a good comparison.

I'd agree that he's probably underrated. A solid top 10 guy, but you know, not great.

He can spoil, and is has a good chin/decent defence. No one tends to look good against him.

He won't trouble Kovalev any though IMO.

Convincingly outboxed? Hmm.. not really. Plenty of folk had him winning the first Bellew fight and a draw certainly wasn't out of the question for the second (I scored it 115 113 for Bellew). Similarly with the Alvarez fight. Hard to look good against Chilemba. Yeah, course there's a decent chance he'll get blasted out by Kovalev but that's hardly a fair criticism. If Chilemba's roughly on a level with Bellew and Alvarez that puts him pretty much level with the likes of Cleverly and Fonfara (I know, I know, but he's still a solid LHW) at the lower end of top 10 at 175 for me.

I thought bellew won relatively comfortably in the second fight. I get what you are saying, obviously he isnt useless, just never been that impressed with him and certainly dont think hes underrated or a live underdog.

Well, no, I don't really think he's a live underdog, stylistically he's tricky but it's hard to see any route to victory unless by some miracle he scores the KO, but that doesn't make him a poor opponent. There's few at 175 I'd give much of a chance to against Kovalev.

I keep drawing the parallel with Bika at SMW, OK yeah the guy was never really championship material but that doesn't mean he didn't give many of the top guys one hell of a fight.
