Mayorga is an exciting fighter in and outside the ring. He would talk Spanish and I wouldn't understand all of what he says, but I still find myself laughing at his material. His style of fighting also appeals to the casual boxing fans which is only good considering they are the business of this sport.

Johnny Tapia was great. A nice guy who could fight that had been through some real deep **** to get to where he was going. I do miss seeing him in the ring. Johnny Tapia proves that you can accomplish anything no matter your current situation. Be true to your dream and you can accomplish anything.

I'll never see a fighter that could make me pull for him more than he did. It simply won't happen.

Man....when he faced off against Romero, I thought he might be in trouble. The way he fought, and the drama in that fight was incredible.

His heart is so big that you can't deny it. I mean...you could sit there and go on all day about the crazy things that happened to him in real life: and for him to overcome adversity in and out of the ring is absolutely astonishing.
