It wouldn't surprise me. AJ has a massive fanbase who will turn out en mass to vote for him regardless of achievement. He's all over the TV, i think he was on Top Gear the other week.
After all it is sports personality of the year & no one has more personality then Tyson Fury(rightly or wrongly). However if it was boxing achievement my vote goes to Jamie McDonnell this year!
Got to be McDonnell or Crolla, Boxings biggest cinderella stories.
AJ is nailed on for the award, his hype far outweighs his achievements, he says whatever his PR adviser tells him to say, he is errrr black, and he is not TYson Fury.
He is the perfect coconut candidate.
lol the first line of your post deserves Greeeeeen k!
AKA, a vote between popular sportsmen who abide by the norms dictated by the national media.
Joshua fits the bill. Fury doesn't.
It's not all so bad though, Fury has the accolade of being crowned World HW Champion, something Joshua can't say yet. The biggest prize in sports kinda *****s the BBC's little award, no?

That pretty much sums up the award. Personality in terms of your sporting achievements, but also your popularity with the public.
You simply can't talk as freely and in such a controversial manner like Fury, and expect to win sports personality of the year.
Joshua is made for this award. A complete gentleman, chiselled like a Greek god, sparkling smile and says all the right things.
Anyways, its best he wins the award before he's exposed by David Haye :-)
