Why are there no more prominent southpaws?

Are orthodox fighters scared to fight them? Or are they taught to fight orthodox even though they are lefties? What's the deal fellas, do you know?

There's plenty, quite a few when you consider the percentage of people who fight southpaw. It's not like it's 50/50.

I found southpaws to be rarer among the heavyweight and Mexican populations

                  Other strange thing

Southpaws appear to be over represented among Cuban and Filipino fighters.

Andrade, Lara, Russel Jr., Rigondeaux, Saunders, DeGale, Stevenson, Glowacki (or Usyk is he wins that fight).

Those dudes are all pretty prominent in their classes especially taking all the names into account not just the ones I listed that hadn't been mentioned yet.
