I do not think Zurdo's power will b the issue it's his style that he would employed vs AA that may extend the fight 2 the full 12 ...Zurdo's main concern would be 2 stay off the ropes, keep the fight in the center... it will be an interesting fight

GGG has skills but bigger guys with bigger punches and better punch resistance should always be a concern when moving up in weight, especially someone who gets hit as much as GGG.

I have seen a handful of people write something like this and it is a huge misconception. Aside from when Golovkin literally sticks his head out and eggs the guy on to hit him in an effort to create some entertainment (while always tucking his chin, mind you), he doesn't get hit much at all. People assume if you don't run around the ring and remain on your back foot that you are not defensive. That is not true. It is the guys who incorporate defense into their aggressive offense that are truly impressive. I think even people who love Golovkin do not understand what an accomplished, well rounded, boxer he is. He doesn't just punch hard.

Who else who say that after saying, Golovkin punches like a mule & is a danger fight, blah blah.. Not to say GGG is going to have an easy run in 168, but he will have a few easy tune up fights at 168 before taking the title fights.. tbh, GGG might struggle with some of the 168 guys's range & power but doesn't mean he will be KO'ed it might mean, he cannot come and take shots to land his own like he does in MW..

I think he struggles at 168 which is why Abel from day one has kept him lean as hell. I don't think Golovkin performs the same with a bit of weight on him, the one fight we know he actually hit 170 for he seemed very very sluggish in and i'm a fan of the guy but I don't think he has that same spark with more weight on his frame.

GGG is a small MW, no doubt.

It's funny only Big SMW and LHW want to fight GGG.

Froch once said people should swerve GGG like the plague. He did exactly that. Now eat the humble pie Cobra.

Dude its the wear and tear, Golovkin gets most of his power from his well developed back and his legs..those guys are going to lean on him on every clinch and it's not something I dismiss as a factor. I think Golovkin is a great fighter but as i've said on here before there is such as thing as too much man in a combat sport. We'll know soon enough though.

It's going to be interesting.
I expect GGG to move up in about a year.
There is a clear strategy for him to clean up MW. Fight Eubank - now he's got a WBO ranking. Fight the #1 guy in WBO (I think he's Armenian), the guy will take the fight because it will be huge money for him. Now's he's the mandatory for Saunders. So Saunders either fights him or pulls a Canelo and vacates. Loeffler is a smart guy. I'm sure he's got it planned out. Then after all the belts - move up. If a huge money fight turns up above or below MW of course he may take it but otherwise, just stick to the program.

Saw Sanchez interviewed very recently. He is extremely confident GGG will dominate at SMW. He may be wrong, but his confidence was interesting.

I don't think most 168ers will have that strength advantage. But I think you're right about some of them.

Zurdo will because he's really a LHW who drains down. At 30 he won't be a SMW anymore. But GGG has already beaten guys who've done to 168.

I also think people underestimate that GGG will also be stronger, although how that impacts his overall game is unknown.

GGG isn't a big MW, but he hits hard enough to compete at LHW.

He's been over 170 for his last four fights. 172 against Wade.
