Yeah man, you got me. Honestly man, Spence should be fighting former champs like Berto or Guerrero for all the hype he is getting. We just seen what Spence can do to awkward movers with a light punch, lets see what he can do with a guy that dont stop coming or a guy with percussive power. Id favor Spence to beat both Berto and Guerrero but you cant call a guy the future until he has fought different styles. There have been 100s of welterweights we have called the next big thing than they fight some hard nose MF'er and they dont have what it takes. Look at Vernon Forrest (RIP), I honestly thought the guy was going to be great and he was a good fighter but then came a limited crazy ass Nicaraguan and look what happened twice? Look at Broner, Maidana came in as an opponent that was supposed to lose to the next TBE and there are still memes floating around about that fight. Mike Jones was leveled by Grandpa Baily and the list goes on...Comment

In fairness everyone with an undefeated record & 20 fights is overhyped by someone. Sure Spence gots more hype, but thats cuz his story keeps growing as he's performed well over a period of time + those sparring "W" stories have surprisingly done wonders for him (look for more sparring hyped guys in the future with young cats on the way up with how successful that was for Spence). If he can become the next Forrest that will be a great accomplishment. You don't gotta be "TBE". There are plenty of great fighters who weren't "TBE". But yea sure outside of Joshua he might be the most overhyped guy in the sport right now, but we've all seen this before & we know way more often than not the ground is gonna be closer than the clouds eventually in any fighters particular story.Yeah man, you got me.
