Max Kellerman replacing Skip Bayless. Good news for boxing?

Fox Sports’ Colin Cowherd was doing a Periscope broadcast on Monday, where he started to talk about SportsNation, which he co-hosted from 2009-2012. Cowherd nonchalantly said SportsNations Max Kellerman will replace Skip Bayless on First Take and that the deal was pretty much completed.

“Thoughts on SportsNation. Michelle Beadle’s a friend, Max Kellerman is leaving that show, he’s going to be on First Take.” “It’s a done deal,” Cowherd told someone off-camera, “well pretty much, yeah.”

Cowherd said the change was going to upset Beadle and that she was “pissed off.”

“Beadle likes Kellerman, that’s not going to play well for Beadle, she’ll be upset. “

Cowherd also claims that Kellerman and ESPN were $100,000 apart in negotiations for the deal

First Take has reportedly landed a new co-host and the news comes from an unlikely source. I don't watch his current show, how much boxing does he talk? I don't watch first take but I've seen some of their boxing takes, CASUALS!!!!! Hopefully Max can teach Stephen A. Smith a thing or two about boxing. It'll be a good thing as long as he covers all fighters and fights, not just HBO fighters and fights. PBC should hire Charlamagne Tha God in capacity. He's a big time boxing fan and so is Sway. He had Steve Espinoza on his show the other day. I didn't know they've known each other since their college days.

slight improvement from that turd will cain.

i fear max might be too beta and agree with SAS on things that will be politically incorrect for him to disagree with.

This will actually be a good thing for boxing.

We will actually have someone who know's boxing talking boxing on ESPN.
Maybe we will see more shows featuring it, instead of just when May and Pac are in the news.

Because to be honest, SAS and Skip Bayless were casual fans at best, and yes I know Skip Bayless went to Ali Vs Foreman fight "as he likes to bring up", but guess what, so did my grandma and she knows nothing about boxing today.

ESPN is abc owned so it'll be a politically correct, contrived, and all around terrible program still.

Perfect replacement. Anyone but that Will Cain guy, who is just awful and probably would have taken the show down with him.

Their boxing talk was a disgrace. Max will improve that.

In my humble opinion, that show was cringeworthy to begin with. I mean beyond bad. I do like max however and believe he is an asset to whatever program he'll be on

Same reason I couldn't watch it. Skip and S.A.S. both were trying to hard to be controversial.

i feat that SAS will make kellerman his BBC cuck.

kellerman is too passive when a dominant african american male is talking over him or disagrees with him. have you seen how passive he gets when roy "corrects" him on something even if he is clearly wrong? max will never challenge him, he will always agree. and because of that, roy gets away with saying some ridiculous **** sometimes. he's even worse with hopkins and ward. i have seen him disagree with harold letterman numerous times though.

SAS is going to have a field day until the ratings drop and they fire kellerman.

The one positive is he will school Stephan A. Smith when he tries to talk about boxing.
So many cringe worthy moments hearing that moron talk about the sport.
I actually liked First Take until Stephan A. came on full time. I watched less and less the last few years and don't plan on going back now that Skip is gone. Good luck to Max though, seems like a good guy.
