Comments Thread For: Thurman: Porter Was Good With Pressure But Wasn't Effective

Keith Thurman narrowly outpointed Shawn Porter, taking seven rounds to five on all three scorecards and retaining his welterweight title. While the bout was close, Thurman said he was able to do exactly what he'd hoped to do to win the fight.

    Good on you Thurman, respect.

Im a fan of Porter's heart, but not all of his boxing style. Thurman had a beefy semi-talented fighter swarming, jumping on top him, and all he could do was counterpunch as messy as it looked.

Porter's style disrespects the sport imo. To all the people that say Porter edged it, what the hell was Thurman supposed to do? If he matched Porter's style we wouldve seen an NFL game.

Keep gaining Thurman, you are the future.

Good thing the judges filled out their cards before the fight started then.

Porter fought as well as he could and still lost to Thurman

Thurman is hated but still is a talented big mouth mini munchkin horse tail hair midget. Thurman will never win the fans but give the midget credit big mouth or not and hated everywhere the mini man kid has talent in the boxing ring.

Thing is, the guy won't even admit Porter was getting to him several times in the course of the fight. That mid rounds body shot nearly folded him, and Porter, in general, got to Thurman just as much as the other way around. Yes, Porter still smothers his punches sometimes, and he needs to fix that. But still, it was a very close fight that deserves a rematch.

            Hated by who?

            3.3 million v Guerrero, 1.1 million v Collazo and 2.4 million v Porter.

Doesn't suggest he has a problem with fans.
