Let's do it again, and hope Floyd stays retired.
So if you're on me about supposedly hating Thurman, I'm guessing you also are on R_Walken for saying basically Shawn's a bum?

Look, I don't hate Thurman, but he does have a c ocky mouth and thinks he's some kind of superman... which he definitely isn't. Yes, he has some talent. Superman? Not even close. As for your synopsis, the accuracy count is debatable, because Shawn threw more punches that probably didn't get counted because of his bad habit of crowding his punches from being effective. But he did have Thurman easily in as much trouble as Thurman had him in trouble. Which Thurman mysteriously didn't touch on at all. That too reflects on the fight being nearly even. Not a horrendous decision though, could've went a draw or either way IMO. And yes a rematch is in order. Matter of fact, I see a trilogy as a workable scenario. After all, so far it was the most watched fight of the year.

If you are pro Thurman he got the decision but don't be a **** about it!
I agree 100% it could have gone either way and nobody should really complain at all. I personally had it 114-114 a draw, it all came down to preference and what you liked on how you scored the fight. At the same time I'm not mad at the decision and wouldn't have been mad if Porter won. All in all it was a great fight and great night of boxing. Hats off to both fighters!

I have great respect for Porter. I love fighters who come forward and press. He's a bull, a tank. No dislike of any kind for Porter. He's class in and out of the ring. Thurman has an outrageous sense of self. I thought Thurman won but not by much. Future fights between these 2 will be close and action packed. I look forward to their trilogy.

Porter won, and it wasn't close. I had it 9-2-1. Everyone's impressed with Thurman's big shots, but Porter beat him almost every round.
Thurman said he landed at least one big shot that rocked Porter in every round. No you didn't Thurman. Thurman hurt Porter twice, maybe 3 times. Porter hit Thurman with some bombs also, and Porter landed a stiff jab all night. Porter beat him on the inside also. Think about it: Thurman didn't throw an effective jab all night. He rarely threw body punches either.
Basically, Thurman throws heavy punches with both hands. If they're not landing, he has nothing to fall back on. Porter has speed and he was in Thurman's face all night. Speed never has a bad night, Thurman had to respond to the speed and the inside game, and he didn't do enough.
