Comments Thread For: Eubank: Is Golovkin Ready To Step Up? Fight Someone Not Scared!

British middleweight champion Chris Eubank Jr. (22-1, 17 KOs) is hoping he is not rejected by IBO/IBF/WBC/WBA middleweight world champion Gennady 'GGG' Golovkin (35-0, 32 KOs). Eubank's promoter, Eddie Hearn of Matchroom Sport, is in deep negotiations with Tom Loeffler, who promotes Golovkin, to stage the fight in the fall at a UK stadium venue. A September date is being discussed between both sides.

GGG has no business in the ring with a guy who is still fighting at the domestic level.

Man to hell with this git, what is up with Saunders he beat Eubank this is absurd, Saunders still injured?! GGG and Saunders at 160 is the only fight left to make or else GGG may as well go to 168. Eubank needs to get out of domestic level and stop talking crap he is obviously good enough.

Exactly. I actually had some poster on here the other day saying he had fought and beat good comp. I was like "No, he hasn't beaten anyone above domestic prospect level, when he had the chance to he lost to BJS"

No denying the talent is there though

That's the problem with having three belts. With these damn sanctioning bodies, ranked fighters aren't always seasoned enough to really deserve the title opportunity. At least Eubank seems more confident and prepared than Wade was. Eubank will get his ass whupped, but at least he'll go down fighting. What's most important about this match-up is to see how GGG performs in the UK.
