In fairness, Groves was giving Froch an absolute pasting before getting caught in the first fight. The first KD on Froch was pretty sick. Carl wanted no part of Golovkin either. That fight was on the table and Froch declined without hesitation.

Yea, I think the myth of Golovkin has become greater than the man. He is a bad MFer dont get me wrong but he can be beat. I would hope his reputation hasnt gotten into actual boxers heads like it has some fans but there was Tyson. He had alot of fights won before he ever got in the ring ( see Tyson vs Seldon, ***in disgraceful). That being said i think he has been ducked more than anyone i can think of in recent memory, probably more for financial reasons than anything. I dont think boxers fear a loss, they may fear the financial damage it causes them but I dont think they fear the loss. In a perfect world the vast majority of them would like to challenge themselves against Golovkin but if you can make 1 million against Joe boxer who has a following in England and can bring the gate or you can get possibly get your head caved in by Golovkin for 1.5 million, well what would you do? I get it, i dont like it but the A level fighters who could fight Golovkin wont fight him until they think he has gotten old. Mike mcCallum went through something like this.

Even if true, I find it ironic he went on a little tirade of excuses. "I was drinking.. also I was fat.. out of shape... and it was so high up there in the mountains.. I put myself the most difficult position...but it aint my fault tho".
