Can someone explain Brexit and it's effect on Boxing?

    Found this:

Boxing's small hall shows and promoters may well be affected by European fighters travelling to box in the UK, or more importantly, being needed at late notice as replacements. Since January 2016, 515 overseas boxers have fought in the UK on professional cards. There has been a steady increase of the last five years. "It may affect the time allocation with visas for European fighters, which was previously not the case," Robert Smith, General Secretary of the British Boxing Board, told The Telegraph. "Small hall promoters use a lot of European fighters on their cards, some as late replacements, and it will now depend on how the Home Office legislate this."

I think I got it backwards? How is Joshua making less money?

Honestly, nobody knows. Americans can still come here the normal way. How inter European sports will work going forward, I haven't a clue. As for money, I would not be surprised at all if we go back into recession. Uncertainty is investments greatest enemy

The British people have only highlighted how moronic they are by voting this way. They're fed up of immigration, but vote to leave despite knowing it's not going to change if we trade with Europe anyway.. I don't really understand it.

The BBBC will like this though. It means they again have the monopoly of British boxing... British boxers before could use any EU boxing licence to box here. That probably won't be the case

I'm talking about money. Dominic Brazeale's purse just took a huge hit.

The pound is down around 11.20 percent. So, if Brazzealle is getting paid in pounds, he's certainly not bringing home as many American dollars. He's basically losing out on over $150K USD when the conversion is done.

I don't think this will affect boxing too much. It's still a strong currency but it's buying power is obviously diminished.

What about Vargas vs Brook? Brook isn't happy with his purse and Vargas was already kind of tight with his purse and was swayed with a cpl extra hundred thousand.

Where are you guys getting this info about the GBP being down? I follow that a couple times a day and at 1.48 it's a bit higher than it's been for months. I know it's been volatile all day so that might be why we're getting different numbers.

Edit; I ask because if it's down, I need to make some investments. XE.com has it up.
