Post Examples of Why Boxing Is Not Respected As A True Sport?

One thing that gets me is how these networks PBC,SHowtime,HBO etc lets these boxers come on as commentator and even the actual day to day commentators like Kellerman or Bernstien and talk about what illegal move a boxer should make. They are basically saying they should cheat in this way to get a better advantage. Last figth paulie was non stop talking about this boxer should commit all these fouls blah blah blah.

Cheating is cheating no matter in what form, and then paulie wants to go on a crusade about pacquaio being a cheater with no evidence but he will go on live tv and give his opinions on all the cheating moves a boxer should do to win.

makes no damn sense to me and im sure alot of casuals will be like "why are they saying this fighter should cheat for?"

Boxing has long been considered a legit sport. You must live in an area where people see it differently but, FFS, it's an Olympic sport and look at the way the world observed Ali's passing.

MMA is the one that's a fringe sport and there's a laundry list of reasons for that.

Oh you mean that sport where the best are constantly matched up with the best? The one where no top guys are protected an every title fight is usually vs a top #3 in that division? The sport where there is one generally accepted champion in each division because a single company monopolised it?

How is that a fringe sport? I wish to god boxing had a UFC governing it. No more 30 weight divisions with 6 alphabet titles in it.

Before you spurt some nonsense, I am 10x the boxing fan that I am MMA fan. I just happen to logically see how much better MMA is currently being run.

Easy man, 4 champs per division. Imagine if there were 4 superbowl champs, NBA finals winners, & World Series winners & they never played against each other bcuz their managers advised them not to or bcuz the $ wasnt right? Every year in each sport when champs are crowned it creates bandwagon or attracts casuals, more merchandise is sold & fans are created. Boxing lost that by having 4 different champs that dont fight each other.

                Boxing is almost legitimate .....

The issues I call into question are the ridiculous decisions by dirty or blind judges and/or referees...

There are unending numbers of unjust, ****** decisions....

Off the top of my head..
Canelo didn't deserve a draw vs Mayweather from one of the judges...

Nicholas Walters dominated Jason Sosa, hit him 120 more times than he was hit and gets a DRAW ???

Anyone fighting a Texas area fighter in Texas , particularly with Lawrence Cole as referee, is asking fod trouble... (Lomachenko vs Salido among MANY others)

In short, there needs to be a nationally regulated and trained referee and jugdes organization that holds it's members accountable and has the authority to overturn Bad Decisions by its members in a timely manner and replace incompetent judges & referees, banning them from boxing... (Like the Olympics did with the South Korean judges in the Roy Jones jr. Injustice.)

That would go a long way to further legitimize the sport...

There is 47 champs per division

                  No one fights tough fights

Ggg has been the #1 contender for 5 years yet sturm, serg, Cotto, and Canelo all ducked him

Adrien Broner is a 4 division champ without beating anyone significant

                  Catchweights

No one comes to fight, they come to outpoint

                  Too much "marinating"

Too many crooked decisions,,, honestly, have you ever seen a bad decision go for the underdog

                  The hype never lives up

Floyd-manny pissed off and turned off every casual fan to boxing, first time in the history of PPv that boxing doesn't have a star that can break 1mil

I'm not bashing mma you insecure clown. It's frequently referred to as a fringe sport in the media. Even Dana white is the first to admit it's not widely accepted. Much of it is due to the level of violence, which limits the scope of popularity, but there's other factors. I watch as much mma as I do boxing so wipe the spittle off your lip and calm the fk down.
