I guess a punch is lucky if the opponent is totally not expecting it. I don't think Pacquiao had any clue that punch was coming. Same goes for Paul Williams against Martinez. I don't necessarily think getting caught with a good punch is the same as getting caught by surprise. In the case of Pacquiao, Marquez tried several times to land that punch so it should have been expected.

Definitely agree with those who say there is no such thing as a lucky punch.
When people say that, it's usually because a guy lands a punch that ko's their favorite fighter and they didn't expect that.

So it's really more like an unexpected punch than a lucky one.

The unexpected ones knock mofos tha **** out!

Let's make this simple, shall we?

A lucky punch is one that SHOULD NOT have connected. For whatever reason.

Don't try to interpret it differently from what it is. The whole thing happened so fast in real-time that one can barely even tell their feet even touched unless they did a snap-second shot of it, thus there was no magic trip that had anything to do with him being KO'ed.

You Pac tards will go to any lengths to make excuses for your boy losing.
You started an excellent thread. You are sweeping away an excuse that they love to cling to, tripping or foot stomping!
          Great stuff.

What's the reason that shot should not have connected?

So did I! I love that pic. PAC's head nearly came off and spinal column too! It showed the blunt force trauma from that punch.

Marquez even landed a left to PAC's body as he fell face first.

Weak jab, jumps in, Marquez slips the jab and kaboom.

Not sure I get your point?

That punch was unexpected but it was not lucky.
Jamed had nothing to fear, he was not fighting Kevin Kelly or someone like that.
