    IDK if the risk is worth it. Sure he can be used as a stepping stone name at this point, he represents a "tough" name even though he hasn't been too tough as of late, BUT this might last for a fight or so. You don't invest on a shot punching bag fighter who has ALREADY expressed interest in hanging them up.

        If Rios can figure out his weight situation and keep that in control, you can do something with him still. He's already an old 30 years old, but he's a SoCal fighter, he's TV friendly, and Golden Boy seems to stay focused on TV-friendly SoCal fighters.

        A fit 147 Brandon Rios can feature on those smaller Golden Boy shows, with Oscar biding time until one of his young fighters needs to put a name on their resume.
