Comments Thread For: Crawford: Postol's Knockout of Matthysse Means Nothing

WBO junior welterweight champion Terence Crawford (28-0, 20KOs) is not impressed with Viktor Postol's biggest career win, a tenth round knockout of heavy-hitter Lucas Matthysse.

A big win IMO, but I do agree that Matthysse is overrated.

Lucas would easily be, by far, the best win on Crawford's CV.

He is right though...it means nothing. Nor does his wins. Neither guy has fought anyone as good as the other.

this is a great match up

Don't know much about Victor pistol but Crawford biggest win was Gamboa who fighting at a weight he shouldn't have been and gave Crawford hell for the first 5 rounds...

Matthysse beats every one of crawfords opponents to date.

Not to diminish Crawford's accomplishment up to this point, but Postol would be the highest quality opponent he's faced thus far. He shouldn't look down on him. I doubt he loses...but overconfidence can defeat a boxer too.

Agreed. The Gamboa fight left a lot of unanswered questions for me on whether Crawford is for real. All of this talk about Crawford being a good technician had 0 to do with how he pulled out that win. Postol's 5'11 (at 140??) and a stand up, outside fighter with little head movement. Crawford will be the heavier hitter. I'm looking forward to the fight.
