The Ukrainians are hungry for success, they want to accomplish, and it makes the difference. They are not spoiled babies and they know they need to work hard. For example, the chance of going to the US and earn big is a dream come through previous generations couldn't even imagine because of Soviet times, etc. It makes a difference, because motivation is key in terms of achieving success early on, regardless of you do in life, actually. And young Ukrainian (and other ex-Soviet era states) prospects have this. This is why you see them coming forward now on the world stage.

More than that, they have a strongly developed amateur program and you typically see their fighters add hundreds of amateur fights to their record before turning pro, which obviously makes for a unique pedigree and experience for a young, up and coming fighter. Look for a strong representation in coming Olympic tournaments too. The last decade especially has seen a surge in Ukrainian boxing in terms of becoming a base of talent in the amateur as well as the pro rankings. The very successful 2012 national Olympic team included names like Lomachenko, Usyk, Gvozdyk, Shelestyuk. Other current prolific names are undefeated Derevyanchenko and Khytrov.

Lomachenko is almost certain to be P4P number 1 for countless years. Lomachenko and Usyk were P4P number 1 and 2 in the amateurs I see them being the same in the pros

The Ukraine Amateur team of 2011-2012 was a Golden Squad, the strongest amateur team Ive seen by far.

Usyk,Gvozdyk, and Derevyanchenko are ELITE prospects,in y opinion they are THE 3 best prospects in Boxing.
