150 pounds sounds more than fair. Had I been Cotto, I would've had 151 as my limit. Going down below that at this stage may risk his being drained. Nevertheless, if Cotto offered 150, then we can assume he's confident about the possibility of making the weight.

What is Marquez thinking? You get a pound to your advantage (154 vs 147), and you're still threatening to walk away? Did he honestly expect Cotto to drain himself to 147 pounds, just to fight him? Is this a joke?

I have to assume that this is a bluff by Marquez, just to see if he can get Miguel to fall for it and accept a draining catch-weight. It's smart of him, sure, but I don't think Miguel will be fooled. Cotto learned his lesson about the dangers of catch-weights with Pacquiao.

In the short amount of words you typed, you managed to break the record on dumb.
Juan beat Manny ONE time and that ONE time was as clear as day that Juan JUICED so hard Alistar Overeem got a chubby.
39 year old career counterpuncher that couldn't drop Manny in 36 previous rounds but finally Knocks him cold??? After the Memo heredia physique that is..
The first three fights were close but Manny clearly edged him including the first fight in which one of the judges admitted afterwards that he didn't realize he could score the first round 10 to 6 like the other two judges.
Had He scored it 10 six instead of the 10 seven even though there were three knock downs, Manny would have won the first as well

He certainly did learn a damn good lesson. Greed will inprison us all. Cotto got suckered in to fight pac at 145. 2 pounds less than the 147 limit at a time were cotto was having hard time getting to 147. I remember the 24/7. Cotto was irritated due to not being able to eat (that's got to effect training). While manny was being forced to eat 8000 calories a day with the help of weight gainer shakes.

These fighters have been two of my favourites over the last decade or so.
And i was quite interested in seeing them face off. A last hurrah for one of them.

As it's dragged on though, an un-likely fight has looked less appealing.
JMM has been out of the ring a long time now and would probably benefit from a warm up before Cotto. Also, Cotto isn't making 150 for JMM.

Time for Cotto to look elsewhere for an opponent at this stage of the twilight of his career; and maybe time for JMM to hang them up for good.
