Which one is it, are we talking about Ali the boxer or Ali the racist that you sorely referred to him as in your responses to other comments. Ali was a controversial figure without question and sure he had some bad moments in judgment especially with his alliance with the crooked figures of Islam but Ali's finer moments far outweighed his bad ones and it is sad that the hate in you won't let you see that.

Now to Ali the boxer, you conveniently left out the actual fight and here banging your heads against the wall clamoring about what Foreman was going to do in a rematch. That bias is so great you can't even take some time to talk about what happened in the actual fight and how that would have been different in the rematch. Ali basically took Foreman's heart and soul in that fight and endured tremendous amounts of punishment and went on to knock Foreman out despite all the odds against him. People were already talking about Ali's death at the time due to Foreman's imposing and killer mentality at the time. That feat still hasn't been replicated since when you consider the overwhelming odds, his absence from boxing and he was out of his prime at the time.

Rematch wasn't really warranted considering the way Ali ended the fight and while it might have been to difficult to duplicate, who is to say Ali can't win a decision having already experienced what Foreman brings to the table. The element of surprise is no longer an issue. As for him being the greatest, whether he proclaimed it or it was bestowed on him, the vast majority consider him just that, his resume suggest that, his character suggest that and if you poll boxing audience today, the majority will agree he is. If the majority agrees, isn't that how something is affirmed if so, then what is the problem. Just put the hate aside and appreciate the man for the fine boxer he was and the greatest fight albeit 30 years or so ago still being talked about till today. Whatever you feel about his character doesn't take away from the transcending fighter that he was in his time.

Well what Foreman exactly did to deserve that rematch?
Ali fought Frazier x3, Patterson x2, Liston x2, Quarry, Bonavena, Foreman, Spinks x2, Holmes, Chuvalo, and many others, his resume is great, the rematch was unnecessary.

Look at Ali and look at Foreman, and tell me who's the real winner.

Ali won the battle; Foreman won the war. Frazier too. God rest his soul.

Not even close to those fights , Ali out smarted George because Foreman was never taken into deep water before and he thought he was invincible , what he was in reality was a crude boxer , actually less than that he was basic , but what he was was a thunderous puncher and an extremely powerful man .

Ali wore George out both physically and then mentally , he allowed George to just wail away but not landing flush , Ali was taking the power off many of the shots with angle shifts and blocking , and George just got tired from all the energy he was letting out to try and stop Ali , and Ali just seen that little stumble and boom he had an exhausted Foreman staggering all around and open for the KO .

Ali was the master boxer and will always beat a guy like Foreman , when they fought it was a prime Foreman and version 2 of Ali , the Liston Ali would school George and not take anywhere near the punishment of the real fight .

Off course George wanted a rematch , he knows he blew it and found out what hitting the wall is in a WT fight , if anybody exposed as the TS states , it was Foreman that was exposed by a much more rounded experienced fighter .

very well written so i could respect all of the above....

i am just wondering why the TS seems to harbor a very deep hatred for ali...may he rest in peace...
