Comments Thread For: Thurman Believes Knockout of Porter Will Help Raise Legacy
WBA welterweight champion Keith Thurman (26-0, 22KOs) is hungry to make a statement against IBF world champion Shawn Porter next Saturday night at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn
Still feel this fight will be ridiculously close. Thurman will probably win the first 5-6 rounds, but I just don't think his stamina or physical strength will stand up to Porter during the later rounds.
Predicting close points either way or a potentially a draw.
why do these boxers always talk about a "legacy" when they might have only had something like 20/25 fights!
its makes me laugh, ray robbo, armstrong, walcott, ali, foreman etc etc etc all had big numbers over 15 round fights and worked really hard for the acclaim and golry but, these modern day youngsters talk about what is left behind when their only a couple of fights in.
I think its the number of available "world titles" that has grown this mentality into the modern day sport, 50 years ago or more it was many fighters chasing one real belt and to get a chance it would take around 30 or more fights whereas now, what? 15? 20 fights? and they think their bruce floyd "im ard" ali mcgregor.
thurman is STILL on the ladder on his way up so far.....so good.
