In the amateurs they use to have a certified doctor perform a physical before every fight. If that doctor detected anything such as an irregular heartbeat he has the authority to call of the fight for that particular fighter. Maybe that's what happened here. I can recall failing a nystagmus test (follow the finger with your eye) and the doctor called off the fight. Turned out I really did need glasses.
