speed and the sheer fact that people were afraid of him. he was an intimidator because of what he was capable of and did on a regular basis for a while. davarall williamson, williams, the guy tyson got ko'd by that went on to fight vitaly klitschko...he said that the only person that ever hit him harder was klitschko. and come on, these folks that say someone hit harder than tyson are lying. not saying no one did, but can they hit that much harder than iron mike to tell a difference? i don't think so.

I think people have to realize that Tyson was still young, and despite the fact he looked like a fully grown "man", he was still maturing...you don't really start to hit your "Man Strength" until you are in you mid 20's, so about 25+...Tyson himself said that he felt stronger after prison...but of course by this time he was so rusty it didn't matter much.

Tyson was also said to do little to really no lifting at all in his Catskill days.

I would say its overrated by many people, e****ially casual to non-boxing fans. Mike has great power, but was not the most powerful of all time. It was the combination of his incredible power and his handspeed that really made him seem so powerful. It was unheard of for a guy to pack that much of a punch in that fast of a punch.
