How Many Black Posters Like Kovalev and How Many White Posters Like Ward?

Very cool story, man! I like humility. And I do like Ward outside of the ring. Inside, he's good at what he does. I just don't care for the style.

I can see how people can feel like that. His stock rose after I met him in Oakland.

My brother in law, who I don't like, is a minister and visits Ward's church, he told me Ward is just a soft spoken God fearing man.

Kovalev is not a really a racist, the Stevenson t-shirt was more like a misjudgment of proper public behavior of sorts (most people found it hilarious); Kovalev's trainer is black and he has expressed tremendous respect for Hopkins, for example. People need to thicken their skin, frankly.

Boxing can definitely bring out a tribal, us vs. them mindset, which according to a Hell on Wheels episode amounts to a distraction for the idiot masses and will mean nothing no matter who wins.

But since the racial aspect of the sport comes up often, I thought I'd do this little survey.

For myself, I am sure I fit the stereotype. I am white and I like Kovalev in the ring and out of the ring. I don't like Ward in the ring, but I think he's pretty cool outside of the ring, although I saw on a video where he claimed Mayweather invented the jab to the body. WTF?

Anyway, just curious.

Afro native american here...I like both fighters....after his 2013 run, I've been watching every fight of Kov and Ive been a fan of Wards since he won the olympic gold medal

a fight with these two is a fight, true boxing fans drool over.

I like both fighters, contrasting styles and Kov may just be the best all around puncher in the game. Skills and accuracy. Ward may be the best pure boxer

I met SOG at fentons(ice creamery in Oakland) years back, I complimented Ward on beating froch etc...he smiled and said something like "re watch the fight, I barely won." He shook my hand, and went back to his people.

It was impressive. No bragging, nothing, I was talking crap, and Ward walked away! SOG!

Funny fight that - Dre won clearly and did more in nearly every round but towards the end when Froch was comin on strong you see Ward glance at the clock a couple times like 'how long can I keep this guy offa me?' Andre made it look easy, but he's said a few times it was a tough, tough fight.

Me? I'm brownish - in summer at least - Greek / English descent. Fan of both guys but I'll be rooting for the Krusher.

Froch gave him hell. It was surprising to hear him say that straight away. But, I re watched the fight years ago and could see froch bringing the heat. Froch is no joke. After Ward said this to me, I gave froch the credit he deserved. I had discounted him because I thought he was over rated.

I loved it when he blasted Groves.

IDK man, I think maybe it takes a bit more than the use of racial epithets in high blood (I believe he also called Grover Young something similar after being robbed of the KO win) to brand someone a racist, though it ain't me that sets the bar. You ever called a woman a ***** or a whore in anger? You sexist? Or that fat **** who cut you up in traffic? You hate fat people?

I could be wrong, but the impression I get ain't that Kovalev hates black people in particular but that he's not the type of guy that'll just let it go if you piss him off.
