Naturally he wants Broner. Broner draws more of an audience than the other top Welterweights which translates to more money for Garcia but AB has also shown difficulty handling true Welterweights so Garcia smartly sees an opportunity for more money with lesser risk against a credible opponent. That's good business.

Broner lacks discipline but he certainly has the tools and power to contend at 147. How many other Welterweights have put Shawn Porter on the canvas?

Beating Broner at this point won't mean much. Broner's 3 fights at WW were two bad losses to Maidana and Porter and a split decision over a weak Paulie in a fight that could of went either way. So beating Broner doesn't prove anything for Garcia. But I can see why he wants to fight him he has been reluctant to face any of the top welterweights. Much rather see him fight the winner of Thurman/porter, Brook/Vargas, Spence or Bradley. But watch Garcia fight another washed up fighter like Berto instead. SMH

He will. But I think both will take at least one fight in between--meaning Garcia and the winner of Thurman-Porter. They'll build it up a bit.

You mean he'll wait for another 3 months minimum before the first presscon is held, assuming it's that easy to make tough, risky fights happen. If all goes well, fight happens in December. Cong**** to Garcia for becoming a one-fight-a-year fighter.

This sport will either make fans lose their sense of time or they're okay with fighters fighting once a year.
