Shawn Porter has fought at the title level. He was the very first bout out the gate for the official launching of Premier Boxing Champions (PBC) on Spike TV and also played primetime for his career-best win, a 12-round nod over Adrien Broner last June on NBC.

im flip flopping on my pick. I was pro porter until i saw the sparring session. i know it was 3 years ago, but porter was basically fighting like he always does.. Thurman was landing lead right hands and uppercuts without even setting it up with a jab. Thats awful defense by Porter lol.. Thurman is the harder puncher and better boxer, better thinker and controls distance better.. Im a huge Porter fan, so its hard for me to say this but Im being honest. Im still rooting for Porter but I dont see workrate beating clean effective punches. Porter might even get stopped by running into something nasty. This will be Brook vs Porter 2 basically as Thurman is a pretty accurate puncher. Shawn isnt

Thurman was landing clean anytime he wanted. Porter was sloppily responding with a smothered flurry.. It almost looked like Brook vs Porter. If Porter doesnt KO Thurman I dont see how hes gonna win rounds. Porter doesnt have power like that.. If it goes to the cards and the fight is remotely close, judges will give it to Thurman as hes more marketable and the champ.. I see why Porter is a big underdog now.
