  • Comments Thread For: Thurman: Neck Isn't An Issue, Sparring Has Gone Well For Porter

The neck injury Keith Thurman sustained during a late-February car accident limited Thurman to about one month of sparring for his June 25 fight against Shawn Porter. Thurman is confident that's more than enough sparring to prepare him for their welterweight showdown at Barclays Center in Brooklyn (CBS). The unbeaten WBA welterweight champion considers the injury fully healed as well and doesn't anticipate any neck issues over the next 10 days or during the fight.

Already making subtle disguised excuses lol. This loser will be running and retreating like a coward on fight night. He fights like a scared sissy nowadays.

Less than two weeks before Thurman has to back up his talk.

Yeah, after he loses, he can say, "You know, I felt a lil ting in my neck in about the 3rd round. But I'm a fighter and I battled with a fractured neck for 12 rounds like a true champion. But I take nothing away from Porter. He's a true champion. He took advantage of the situation like a champion should and it was just his night tonight."

A month of sparring is plenty to get ready...not forgetting that he was sparring before the car accident. He'll be fine. The question will be if he truly does have a gameplan to defeat Porter, or if he's just going to look for the big punch all night.

Yeah, I'm sure all the sparring that he did with his dog has definitely gotten him ready for this bout. Like he said, Porter is just a bully.

LMAO.....this dude is getting wrecked. Completely gunshy, "runtime" from round 1 and tired by round 4.

The neck won't become a problem until after Thurman loses to Porter. Thurman is no where close to being the best welterweight in the world. However, he has learned how to makes excuses from the best excuse maker (My socks, The blood draw weakened me, Ma shoulder)!
