If you're going to sue somebody, do you ask for the minimum amount you can get or the maximum amount? Well?...

In my life when I had to sue someone, I sued someone to the extent of what I was owed. I have never sued someone with the thought of let me throw out a huge number and then ill settle for whatever is given to me.

To me All Star just through out this outrageous number knowing that anything else is fine with them.

If Im going sue someone for a 100+ million, im going to do it because that is what im owed and I'm not going to crow about a victory if all I get out of the 100+million is 8.5mill. To me that just says they were looking to extort the situation.

Glad you're one of the few people who sue for the proper amount. In a country where suing is the first reaction to anything bad done, most will ask for millions more in "emotional damage" or whatnot & it's not right. We've seen it way too often for stuff as simple as the waiter spilled hot coffee on me, to the guy I was harassing kicked my arse & i'm going to sue him. Thus, if a company sees big dollars at the end of a case, they will go after those big numbers. That's the way the American system is set up. I don't agree with it. But sometimes we can't change how ppl will proceed on their individual suits...furthermore, we don't know how the judge/jury will perceive each case. That's why lawyers will undoubtedly advise their client to seek the maximum amount. It's a downer worth ignoring.

The maybe funny angle to this, assuming it's true, is there were rumors GBP had offered ASB $10M as a settlement. Now they got legal expenses, they probably gotta wait on the money and go thru an appeal + 1.5M less the GBP was trying to give them a couple months back.

But I was shocked with your original post, I was making fun of Canelo when I 'lol' not laughing or glad that GGG isn't getting a chance at Canelo...
