Loma had a quality ko but Martinez was offering him nothing other than a slow right hand. It was clear that Loma would take him out eventually. Again, it was great, but lacked the drama that made the Canelo ko so emphatic.
I think much of that drama was manufactured by the hbo crew. After watching the fight again...khan wasn't doing much, especially by the point of the ko. It just seemed that way cuz the ko came out of nowhere...if canelo beat him up for a few more rounds first, it wouldn't have seemed so dramatic. I agree that martinez didn't seem to have anything for loma tho.

Agreed, definitely a beautiful finish by Loma.

Lol I don't think I have a preference between single punch KOs and combination KOs though.
It all depends really...i tend to like shots that were set up, whether it be by feints, footwork or other punches. It makes it appear that the fighter earned it, not just landed a lucky shot or caught his opponent sleeping.

Canelo **** himself fearing Khan had given up the ghost. Khan probably **** himself too, cuz that spirit was headed towards the light.

Canelo > Khan wasn't either of those last two you described, but the other part definitely comes down to personal preference.

Fair enough though, to each his own

I'm guessing you're a Golovkin fan, lol. That's some serious shortchanging. I didn't even watch it in English and it was tense and exciting. Kahn had a brilliant plan in the way he was implementing the footwork and angles. He just couldn't sustain it.
I'm not even a fan of his but it's a joke how people are so desperate to discredit him. Kahn is a skilled guy who put on quality muscle for that fight.

Again, nothing against Loma, but there was nothing particularly interesting or memorable about that finish. In 5 years, people will remember the Canelo / Khan Ko, they won't remember Loma / Martinez.

Lol. Allah told Kahn, you're going back son, and there's more of that waiting for you.

No it definitely wasn't...there was subtlety in the way he set it up. He'd been throwing body shots and he gave that look and came over the top...it was sort of similar to the kirkland ko, which was also beautiful.

I think we are the only one's who voted Canelo.

Need to spread green before giving again, but well said.

I like ggg and canelo...i really try not to get caught up in the politics. I'm not attempting to shortchange canelo...just calling it how i saw it. It took canelo a few rounds to get going, and once he did, it was clear khan didn't have anything for him. Once canelo was able to effectively measure the distance, it was a different fight...he took away any advantage that khan had up until that point. There was a reason khan wasn't able to sustain what he was doing. If canelo didn't ko him out of nowhere like that, khan would have started getting beat up over the next few rounds. The writing was on the wall.
