I been saying for the last year, I don't know why GGG gets more hype that Loma or even Kovalev for that matter but that is HBO's choice

That is not to discredit GGG in anyway, GGG is a BEAST and hands down the BEST Middleweight in boxing PERIOD but Loma and Kovalev are dominating BETTER competition at the moment

Golovkin thinks he's great but fights Wade because he's scared.
      GGG talks about it

      Loma does it

      Candelita runs from it

        Ricky Burns damnit.

Both Loma and GGG are great fighters, but GGG is about to break Hopkins record and he will be one of the very few undisputed unified champions in the most prestigious weightclass.
Loma fought for a title against a guy who is a legit badass and comes to fight and will be in fight of the year this year and moved up in weight to win a title in second division while ggg wants catchweights to move up and keeps fighting Juan the taco vendor .

Loma has TR behind him so they know how build up fighters into stars by taking the appropriate risks.

GGG has K2 who I believe will stick to the Klit formula have a long reign. But when it's all said and done his competition resume will leave something to be desired

Both are elite and would fight whoever their team told them too though
          Makes sense.

Well said, I always brought Loma's name up when discussing GGG's lack of ambition

tried to fight ward and froch at 168 and they declined but yes lack of ambition. loma just made twice as much as rocky. ward wanted a 50-50 split. if rocky wanted a 50-50 split this fight would not have happened and loma would still be at 126 yet you would never blame ward for wanting more than he's worth. its always on ggg to take a bad deal lmao.

did loma try to fight everyone in his divisino like ggg did? no so its strange to say he has more ambition. the only difference is he had more wiling opponents who understood economics better than ggg's opponents. even when ggg was willing to be the b-side against froch, froch didn't fight him so its strange to say lack of ambition.

Well Loma is a lil guy thats his problem. Like it or not anyone 135/140 & under gets less respect just for being 135/140 or less. I think Floyd & Manny both did impressive things & didn't start getting more mainstream attention/eyes on them until they moved up to 140/147.

Its almost like there are levels to boxing between woman boxers (all weights), lil guys (135/140 or under), CW's (200) medium guys (140/147 to 175) & big guys (HW's) & the respect & attention each of those groups gets is bigger on average than the group below them.

Obviously some guys in "lesser divisions" shine brighter at times, but largely & on average I believe the levels of respect/hype guys tend to match up with what I'm throwing out.

As for GGG vs Kov I think GGG is in the more historically sexy division, MW. Plus has a much more attractive nemesis in Canelo that makes him more interesting in comparison than anything Kov has between Andre "Talented, But Yawn" Ward & Adonis "Which Guy Lesser Known Them Tommy Williams Jr is Necks" Stevenson. Persona probably plays into it too. GGG is the most likeable high level foreign/non-latino guy in the US since Manny.

I also tend to think GGG's resume is way more respectable then many like to imply or outright suggest. GGG gots the 2nd best resume at 160 (although I suppose there is an argument Jacobs or BJS, with their Quillin & Lee W's, could be higher then GGG, but personally I give GGG's lesser names, but longer success at 160 more credit than 1 notable W + I think there is an argument GGG's got the best resume at 160 since Canelo has catchweighted his entire 160 career) I think & the only reason its not #1 is cuz guys who'd have improved his resume would rather fight other guys for more money.
