Good fight and certainly a step in the right direction for Brook. A good spot for Brook though since he will be the bigger more physical guy and Vargas can't really punch (although he looked a lot better against Ali) so Brook should be able to take care of business.

We've been waiting a long time for a massive big name fight and Jessie Vargas is supposedly it, of course, I'm not impressed he's had WAAAAY long enough to set up something massive Bradley, Lamont Peterson (due to his vast experience in tough world title fights) or Errol Spence due to the fact he clearly is an extra special type of talent.

Vargas is a guy who can be outboxed it seems like your average type of Kell Brook opponent the lowest risk not the highest one.

Fair enough, thinking about it more it seems I just have the lowest expectations of Brook since it's literally been years since he's faced a decent opponent.

That's true he doesn't really want to fight the toughest opponent but the difference is the toughest opponents at 147lbs are willing to fight Kell Brook its just Brook and Hearns aren't willing to match him up.

Definitely like seeing a unification fight at welterweight. I think Brook wins quite handily, though. He's just better than Vargas.
