Comments Thread For: Hearn: Eubank Obsessed With Golovkin Fight, Wants it Next

WBC/WBA/IBO/IBF middleweight world champion Gennady 'GGG' Golovkin (35-0, 32KOs) is the only fall target of British champion Chris Eubank Jr. (22-1, 17KOs).

Everyone that GGG fought would get stopped by lil Chris. If GGG fights Canelo, Saunders, Eubanks or Jacobs; that would show some intent in securing his legacy and fighting some live dogs.

Like anybody would say Eubank Jr. was a "live dog" or worthy opponent if GGG smashed him.

Don't get me wrong, i personally like and rate Eubank and think he could be very good but if he was stopped by GGG knocks him out, everybody will just say "Eubank only ever beat domestic level fighters". If he knocks out Jacobs it will be "Pirog already did it, Jacobs is chinny". If he beats Canelo, then Canelo had "already lost to Floyd, and probably Lara and maybe trout". etc. etc.

He's at the stage now where no win will ever get credit from some people, they will find a way to dismiss it.

Anyway, i think GGG v Eubank could be a good fight but i'd like to see Eubank fight a good opponent, maybe a guy GGG has beaten like Stevens or Lemiuex and see how he gets on. If he beats them well, then i think more people would be interested in it.

I don't get the hype around Eubank Jr. He's wild with terrible defence. Sure he has a crowd pleasing style but that doesn't make you a world class fighter.

This is typical of what I'm seeing on here. When GGG fights Rubio, Adamu or the Willy Monroes people are content. Golovkin is 34 he's not getting any younger & Eubanks is one of the best young talents in the MW division.

Christopher Eubanks jr would beat everyone on GGG CV via stoppage. Are you American or Billy Joe in disguise?.

True, true, but 160 is a ghost town and with no decent fights, a guy like Eubank becomes very intriguing when compared to guys like.. hell, I was going to name the last guy GGG fought and can't even remember the bastard's name. That's how bad it is, and why a Eubank fight would be welcome.

If GGG stops Eubanks then he's still young enough to carve a good career for himself. It would be like Floyd beating Canelo, a return on Investment. If Golovkin doesn't receive his credit the person refusing to do so likely has an agenda.

A win over Eubank is no better than Lemeiux or Murray. Saying Eubank would beat everyone on Lil G's resume is bull****, Eubank has shown nothing to prove that. I'd favour Lemieux over him, Eubank is so easy to hit and i don't care how good your chin is it'll crack eventually against a big puncher.
