A law should be made to make it illegal to say that Broner won a "welterweight title." We all know he didn't win nothing. Just a fight against an overmatched lightweight that happened to be sanctioned by some frauds.

I thought I was being so ridiculous that it would be taken as a joke, but... that's what I get for assuming.

I think Broner has moderate talent, mobility issues, and was far too hyped when he was coming up. Not to mention his greasy horror show of a life, which is beyond the scope of this conversation. The guy is such a mess that I have begun to root for him. Same with Chavez Jr. Hating them only drags me down so I'll just root for them.

I don't hate either guy, but seeing Chavez jr take that beating from Fonfara was interesting. Hope he learns and is serious about his chosen profession.

what about the video, dude aint gonna be their to dispute anything broner team says. self defense? a video shoot? etc etc whos gonna say otherwise?

Possibly but its still going to hit Broners pockets in a major way and its not like he is making Mayweather money. He is going to pay a pretty penny to either fight the case in court or pay the guy off to keep his mouth shut.
I doubt they just drop the case completely. Broner has had too many incidents to just let this one go. Even if the guy doesn't testify they can use the video as evidence of the incident. He may have to plea down to a lesser charge but I think he actually does some time here eventually.

It's obvious you've never been in trouble a day in your life. The witness dropped the civil case. He's not gonna testify at trial. So all they have is a witness statement and a video of a man no one can identify and no one can see a gun or anybody getting hit. And the witness statement means nothing in court because you have a right to face your accuser and if the accuser isnt' there they can't use the statement. Like the other poster said. They'll try to get some ****** plea to a misdemeanor, disorderly conduct, just to save face.

What about the video

The video showed a person screaming and yelling about money. Did you see a gun in the video? Did you see anybody fighting in the video? Did you see Broner in the video? If you're the type of person who could convict somebody from that video then our justice system is ****ed. The prosecution has to prove beyond a reasonable doubt that Broner beat the guy up and pulled a gun on him. No gun found, no gun shown in the video. Can't even distinguish if that's Broner in the video. Can't distinguish what's going on in the video besides yelling and people saying calm down AB. Would you convict him based on that video and no witnesses?

They clearly settled and A.B. will have the charges dropped once dude refuses to co-operate with the D.A. which is a smart move on Broner's part.
