Porter's lost to Brook was a learning experience that will become a advantage against Thurman. If Thurman can't adjust, he is in trouble.

LOL at everyone calling out Danny right now. Angel like nah we'll fight that crippled kid over there for a million doe.
I'd love to see Danny in the mix at 147 for real, but I feel like he's completely happy just being among the best. He seems to have lil drive to be The Best. He just getting his money right for post-boxing & he's quite good at boxing to command the money he's commanding & thats good enough. Thats the vibe I get from Danny & Angel.Comment

Welterweight is ridiculously overrated atm. Posters are trying to hard to pretend the quality of the division has remained even remotely similar since Pacquiao and Mayweather left.
Brook, Garcia, and Thurman as part of a new 'fantastic four'?
You couldn't make it up. Even in economic or impact terms, Thurman vs Porter isn't even a huge fight, its a decent matchup between two fairly unproven names.
None of these names have proven anything. Isn't it funny how perceptions of a division chance depending on bias. Middleweight is supposedly dead, because Golovkin is far ahead of the pack, but Welterweight is strong because 3 fighters with similar resumes (in weight context) than Golovkin have a big American name...Comment

Rios...Algeri...Bradley...were not really WWs.
MW is dead because it is....well.... dead.
At the time Cotto won a title at 160....he couldn't buy a belt at 147 or 154.
147 > 160
160 is so dead Jermain Taylor was able to win another title
Even Rubio recently won a title...LOLComment

Oh oh let me play too. Vargas is a current titleholder for beating Sadam Ali. Thurman didn't even win his title in the ring. Don't be silly. Cotto took the opportunity to beat a clearly fading Champion and it paid off. Taylor won his title because his opponent practically broke his leg..What WWs did Pac fight??

Not sure what you mean with the Pacquiao comment, but he dominated Bradley who has proven more than anyone currently at the weight.. i'd say its just a tiny bit better than a win over Guerrero.
Its all perspective, shaped by personal bias... it shows very well when someone questions it and you instantly get defensive. The fact that a lot of posters are trying to hype up a seemingly average division currently perplexes meComment

Manny didn't fight any WWs other than Floyd...he dragged lightweights and jr welters up...like Rios...Algeri..and Bradley.
He didn't go near any full-fledged 147 fighters.Comment
