Comments Thread For: Quigg: Frampton Rematch Would Be Great For October, November

SCOTT QUIGG says he has unfinished business with Carl Frampton. The Bury man is eyeing up a rematch with his Belfast rival in the autumn. Frampton takes on WBA featherweight champion Leo Santa Cruz in a New York blockbuster on July 30.

Should be doable as Leo is going to beat Frampton and would make no sense for Leo fight Quigg then. Frampton vs. Quigg would be a good scrap but hopefully better then last time

Fair play to Quigg for wanting to jump straight back in there, it's commendable. Gallagher got the strategy on the night all wrong for me and if he's acknowledged that to himself it'll be eating away at him.

I wouldn't expect Frampton and the McGuigan's to be chucking them a bone any time soon though. Not unless there's fighters at featherweight that they want to desperately avoid should they get past Cruz.

I can only think that they're expecting Frampton to take a loss to Cruz, otherwise as you state, what's the in point even mentioning it? They know what the reply will be, "We've moved on, Scott had his chance, he needs to get some credible wins under his belt then maybe, maybe, at some point down the line we can talk business."

As it is they've just gone cap in hand to bitter rivals asking for an opptunity they haven't worked for or earned. It's a bad move. They've just gifted an Team Frampton a feeling of smug satisfaction.

It all depends on how well Quigg recovers from his injury. Plenty of boxers are never the same after getting their jaw broke. I wouldn't mind a rematch as long as Scott decides to fight for the first half this time.

You had your chance, in Manchester no less, and you blew it.

I've no interest in a rematch, first fight wasn't that great, Quigg got soundly outboxed for the majority of the fight. It really wasn't the spectacle it was built up to be.

If Quigg wants a rematch, he has to earn it. Frampton is fighting one of the best featherweights in the world next, how about Scotty does the same? Beat Selby, Valdez, Russell, then you can have your rematch: in Belfast.

No thank you. The first fight was not great and no need for the rematch...... If Quigg could build himself up a little bit maybe in the future but I dont think people are really interested.
