Comments Thread For: Errol Spence-Leonard Bundu Title Eliminator Ordered By IBF

It's likely that Errol Spence will have to move into the mandatory challenger position in order to force the hand of reigning welterweight titlist Kell Brook. The trick is finding a willing opponent to help get him to that point.

Who wants that damn IBF belt anyway? I think that even after Jessie Vargas whoops Kell Brook he might drop it..and look for a super fight with one of the other welters but anyways its coming back to America one way or another.

I'm OK with that, I been wanting to see him vs Bundu or Diego Chaves I think that is another solid test for him but WTF happened to Konstantin Ponomarev?

He wasn't ready for it. He should be lowered in the rankings then

I would love to know how the IBF calculates their ranking system. You will quite often find dudes nobody ever heard of in there. WBO does the same thing.

I would've preferred Ponomarev but you can't force a man to fight.

Bundu is as solid as they come, the guy is a rock and if Spence can stop him, it's an absolutely massive statement. Thurman dropped Bundu in the 1st, but other than that, never hurt him again or come close to stopping him. His defence is very good, he's awkward and can fight in the pocket, lets see if Spence can move him.

I don't see Bundu beating Spence, not even with a lucky punch. I know unifications trump mandatories but isn't Spence the mandatory for both the IBF and WBO? So technically Spence gets the winner of Brook vs. Vargas no matter which one wins. Garcia, Porter, and Thurman, I could see all of them refusing to unify with Brook or Vargas so that Spence is guaranteed a title shot. That way all WW unifications after that point are in house PBC fights. I guess you can tell I don't think Brook or Vargas beat Spence either. To me this is going to be interesting how this all plays out with regards to the WBO & IBF straps. I hope Brook or Vargas faces Spence and neither vacates. I believe Spence is the goods but he still needs the upper level WW's to prove his abilities.
