De la Hoya: 5 guys he should fight, 5 he shouldn't

With Oscar comptemplating a move back to Welterweight there are no clear opponents for him. I have devised 5 guys he should fight ( in or around the welterweight division ) and 5 guys he should avoid.

    HE SHOULD FIGHT....

    1. Zab Judah. Judah's speed is his only advantage, both guys speed is impressive but Zab has a glass jaw and his power although good isn`t Bernard Hopkins. If Oscar could make this a long fight i think Zab will do what he does: hurl chairs at refs and get KO`d. Southpaw factor is a worry but i think Zab's chin is destined to give way to Oscar's power at welterweight.

    2. Felix Trinidad. This fight would have to be at middleweight but why couldn`t Oscar win this one? He outboxed him before didn`t he, a few adjustments here and there he may pull it off. The victory would repair his reputation quite a bit and even if he lost, he could use the weight excuse. On his best day, Oscar could out point Tito

    3. Daniel Santos. WBO jnr middleweight champ, has been winning allot lately and is becoming a decent fighter. Hits with a decent whack at jnr middle but nothing to scare Oscar. Southpaw but not great defensively and has been stopped and floored many times. Speed is average, oscar should stop this guy late.

    4. Kosta Tsyzu. Dangerous fight but with allot of rewards. Big money and Tsyzu has mentioned wanting to go up in weight. Oscar with a bigger reach, height and of late longer fights and activity would probably be able to take this fight long and his speed should outbox Tsyzu. As long as he avoids the right hand, could be an easy win with tons of respect attached.

    5. Antonio Margarito. Seems to have an excellent chin and boxes well but i think lacks Oscar`s skills in the boxing department. If oscar boxes and uses his combos and speed, he`ll nick it on points.

    HE SHOULDN`T FIGHT...

    1. Ronald Wright. Not just because of the southpaw thing. Its that Wright boxes very well, has a good chin, can last the distance and has beaten Mosley twice, while Oscar has lost to the same guy. Maybe Oscar could pull it off but it wouldnt be worth the risk at this stage, he should stay away from this guy.

    2. Cory Spinks. More or less for the same reasons as not fighting Wright. Spinks is good and is faster than Ronald Wright and appears to have as good of chin. The undisputed welterweight title is a great prize but style wise, its the wrong fight. Avoid!

    3. Kermit Cintron. This guy seems the real deal and although a Welterweight, might be the biggest puncher Oscar has faced. He is young, hungry and looking to make a name for himself. Oscar shouldn`t think of this fight if it isn`t for a title...or a few titles

    4. Carlos Manuel Baldomir. Your probably shocked at this choice. Baldomir has 9 losses against no bodies, why should oscar avoid him? Wouldn`t Oscar make this guy his girlfriend? Yes, he would and this is why he should avoid him. Oscar only has maybe 2 or 3 fights in him ( he isn`t shot, he doesn`t seem interested ). It would be wasting his time taking this fight and being one of his last fights people might remember it. Yes, Baldomir is like the WBC 1 at welterweight, but isn`t worth it.

    5. Shane Mosley. Oscar may be tempted to once again step in with Mosley. Could be Mosley is damaged goods and maybe the judges will watch the fight this time ( be honest, Oscar was robbed in the rematch ) but what would be gained by this fight? Yes, Oscar could get revenage..maybe, but at this current time Mosley has only managed to win one of his last 6 fights and most people felt that the win was a luckly one. Apart from pride, Mosley offers nothing to Oscar at this time and why risk losing a third time for nothing?

At 147, Shane Mosley would beat Oscar DeLaHoya.....as long as Shane remembers not to follow Oscar around.
If Shane boxes I think he'll beat Oscar, who struggles with fast boxers.

Noway would Oscar beat Spinks at this time in his career, Spinks is still very young and his footwork will get Spinks the decision. Like other fighters Spinks wont stand with De la hoya and move that will trouble Oscar. However in his prime, Oscar dominates Spinks no questions asked.

Tszyu would give De la hoya trouble, Tszyu can box and throw punches at the same time, each punch carries a brick. Tszyu would hurt De la hoya and give him the hardest fight of his career, hands down.

Cintron beating any top 147 pounder is a joke, the guy might be big but his stamina sucks and he throws nothing but power punches. Watch the replay of dlh vs vargas and that would be the outcome. Kermit stands no chance he is a joke his stamina would kill him against a mover.

I the first fight Oscar even admitted
it was his fault, he didnt take it too serius
and Everyone knows the second fight, was stolen from him,
I would love the trinidad fight,
but idk about Kostya i think he has changed since
              he last fought him.

he should fight anyone that doesn't have a punch (Spinks)

he should avoid anyone that throws hard elbow shots (80% of the boxing world)

De La Hoya can take Vargas, Hopkins, and Tito shots, the likes of which Tsyzu does not compare to. Oscar has more power than Zoo and would KO him in my opinion, no matter how touhg Zoo is.

No, he apparently can't take Hopkins shots. We don't know about Tito, I'm not even sure Tito landed a clean punch on him. I didn't see the Vargas fight, but I do know that Shane had him hurt on several occasions. Since Shane more than likely doesn't have Tszyu's power, I think Kostya probably could hurt him.
