Good call from team GB. The only call really.

Surprised Eubank went down that path.

Former world title challenger Hassan N’Dam N’Jikam to take part in Olympic qualifying event

“I will be taking part in the Olympic qualifiers which will be held on 3rd July in Venezuela. This’ll be three rounds of three minutes [in each fight]. I’m going to put myself in amateur mode before coming back to my professional career in November, probably for an international title,” he said.

N’Jikam is the first high-profile pro to announce their plans of going to the qualifier in Venezuela, but there has been no confirmation from Cameroon or AIBA that he is definitely going.

So how are you going to go from calling out one of the most feared fighters on the planet to then fighting a bunch of amateurs at the olympics.
Calls out Golovkin - then turns amateur.

Putting aside for a moment the violation that is professionals encroaching on the amateur game, that would make a pretty funny tagline.

I don't see how this has anything but negative implications for the amateur game. I can only hope that the professionals get their arses handed to them in qualifiying but its not very likely.

                Oh ****. :itshappeningronpaulgif:

I guess these guys from non-boxing or not so boxing countries that barely put any guys in are likely to slip in. Didn't really think about that. This will be interesting if he & others get in. Even if many teams aren't accepting pros the pros in the tournament will for sure have some sort of impact.

The only thing thats amateur about the Olympics is boxing & wrestling & its not gonna stay that way for much longer most likely. So yea there are negative implications for amateurs at the Olympics however things go.

I don't think it's a big deal. we aren't seeing any elites going and for good reasons, so that leaves the N'dams of the world who honestly could likely lose, they aren't use to the fast pace tournament style three round fights AND maintaining weight, not cutting weight- they will be forced to fight at more of their natural weight due to the constant weigh ins.

Is N'Dam competing at LHW? Don't see a 30 something year old making the weight cuts like that.
