Broner should beat him but I'm too afraid to put any money on it because Broner tends to pull straight back when being pressured and won't step to the left or right. He has all the tools to make it an easy fight. the question in my mind is will he use them.

I wonder who backed out. It's certainly not Provo.

But back then, Provo had just lost to Matthyse, and Broner had just lost to Porter. Are the dates right, maybe that was an old report from a few months earlier?

Prior to the Matthysse fight, Provo's team was in frantic search of a dance partner. Provo was calling out everybody at 140-147, Garcia, Broner, Guerrero, Peterson, Porter, etc. Apparently, Provo had ran out of choices in the HBO camp. Not one showed interest in the Haymon camp. Matthysse, who just went back to GBP, learned about it and said, "Yes, I'll fight Provodnikov."

Provodnikov would destroy Broner in exactly the same way Maidana did, no way this fight gets made.

Provo isn't a feather fisted fighter, and his chin is granite. plus broner power is overrated without a size advantage. this one should be fun
thats the way boxing works idiot. he's had more fights and sure is the better athlete period. provo has no defense and brone's going to tag him all fight long.

I would favor broner in this match up. He's a very good boxer when he's on. But provodnikov is very capable and is skilled at what he does. But I can see it being very much like broner vs Molina or Algeri vs provodnikov.
