Hi there. I work at a sports book. And there is definitely no one so far discussed that would be favored against GGG. Even against Ward, GGG would be a slight favorite....against any SMW, he's a heavy favorite. Against basically everyone else, he's a heavy heavy favorite. Last I saw, the theoretical line for GGG/Canelo would be -650 in favor of GGG...& that has more to do with ppl betting against Canelo & moving the line. And mind you, it takes quite a bit of money to move a line...no casual $5 bet is going to move a line. So, in essence, you are correct. This will become GGG's era just by lack of 50/50 contests available.Like I've said on numerous occasions, who would be favored to beat him?
Ward? Maybe some 168 guys (and that's a big maybe)? And again, beating SMWs will kill any big money fights at 160. One thing before the other..
Claiming that he won't be challenged at his natural weight says more about how good Gennady than his level of comp so far. He fought (and destroyed) or scared the gloves off most of the top MWs in the last few years.
It's not his fault that he's just that good.
Floyd was never the underdog, either, even when he was moving up. The odds in the Chico fight were close, but other than that, when has Floyd fought a guy that most people thought he would lose to? It was just obvious that he was head and shoulders above everyone else.
Side note regarding the Corrales fight:
No matter what the odds were at one book or another, Floyd would've been the smart bet. Besides the fact that he was obviously more skilled, Corrales was having trouble making 130. And just like Canelo's dumb ass, Corrales said in an interview "130 or 135, whatever, I don't care" and Floyd was like "k, 130 then."Comment

To be fair, we haven't seen GGG have to resort to another tactic when challenged because of no one on his resume being able to do it, & not too many who want to try to do it. Lara doesn't have the power to keep GGG honest...& Ward's work rate is a lot less to be desired. Maybe Zurdo, who will be looking to get that GGG fight in 2017...maybe DeGale, even though his style is he prefers to box rather than hurt his opponents. So, really, there isn't a ton of options out there that can execute the game plan against GGG that you propose.Comment

The lineal belt is also a trinket. And all the belts mean something...only brainwashed casual fans will believe otherwise.Comment

You're right, as a GGG fan I allowed his limited English to be an excuse for some of the questionable things that go on. At the end of the day GGG is a brand and needs to take control of the things his camp says on his behalf.just a thought.....
Loeffler and Sanchez have been making that statement for THREE YEARS!!
They have made that exact same statement on dozens of occasions.....
..... how many times have you heard Gennady deny it, or correct them ?
Like Mayweather/Ward/Bradley/etc, do..... when their official representatives talk rubbish?
Abel and Loeffler make GGG look foolish by asking Ward to fight at a CW of 164lbs then claiming he'll take on all comers from 154lb -168lbs in the next breath. GGG is a great fighter and doesn't need this type of hypocritical BS in his camp...Comment

Ggg -350
Canelo + 265
Yeah it would probably go up but if I got +565???? Like your saying??? I would put some decent cash on Canelo. I'll be sure to go to your sports book if they fight.Comment

Also GGG would start as a slight favorite to Ward because of the casual fans but the real experts would bet the FARM on Ward. Especially if it would of been at 168 a weight class GGG never fought at against one of the best. You should know these things.Comment

Those are old numbers. You have to follow the overseas numbers. I believe it was Pinnacle that put up a potential line first. And I do believe that number has ballooned up past -600. You can look it up if you want. Canelo's fans have been nowhere to be found as far as balancing the money taken on this theoretical prop. And sure, come to my book & bet...my book is one of the few who offers early boxing fight odds...you'll figure it out...there's only so many outfits that take sports bets.Comment
