WBC super featherweight champion Francisco Vargas threw 16 more total punches per round than Orlando Salido (84.9 in his last 4 fights), but their power punch output is nearly identical. Vargas landed 8.1 jabs per round- double the weight class average. Salido will have to get past that jab to be effective, as 79.8% of Salido's thrown punches are power shots (54.5 of 68.3) and 91.4% of his landed punches per round (18 of 19.7 per round)--both averages are #1 among CompuBox Categorical Leaders.
