Foreman after Ali went down hill, Foreman can say all he wants that he wanted Ali, when you take a year lay off and then fight for one year hen retire after losing again, you are in no position lol Ali would of KOd him in 4 if they fought again.

Foreman was Obsessed with fighting Ali again, he was constantly calling him out in media

Ali avoided him like the plague and fought lesser guys instead, then Foreman unexpectedly lost to Young

that was a lethal blow to George's already wounded ego so he retired.
only after losing to Young he forgot about Ali
Foreman was talking mad **** after the Ali loss. he didnt accept that he lost to Ali until years later. He was all talk but after getting KOd by Ali he stopped fighting for over a year, then returned for one year and looked unimpressive then lost to Young and retires. If he kept a level head and was mentally there he could of got a chance at a rematch, but it wouldnt matter cuz ali would of KOd him even worse.

Back to Foreman vs Ali II. Once again I cant see how anyone would think the fight would be pointless. Had the fight took place after his win over Frazier it would've been a huge fight. Foreman was still a top fighter and when you keep on knocking your opponents out the hype of a rematch will obviously be there. Young was not a bad fighter, he was a very good slick counter puncher but I know Foreman felt he was robbed against Young. We can say Jimmy Young arguably beat both Foreman and Ali. Muhammed Ali got a gift in that fight. Quite boring fight but Young won IMO.

Ali vs Foreman II is one of those fantasy fights that never happened that I always wanted to see.
What are you talking about anymore? After the ali-frazier fight Foreman was still inactive lol, he took a layoff for over a year, then fought Lyle after Ali just TKOd Lyle, and looked horrible and sloppy. Please learn your history and stop with ignorant comments.

Ali should have lost to Young also. He was given a gift decision.

Naw Ali won a close fight, Young just made it boring, but that has nothing to do about anything

                You're delusional though.

Foreman took a piece of Ali. In a rematch he would be uniquely motivated to avenge his first loss. George would have a special motivation against Ali, he wouldn't fight like how he did against Ron Lyle or Jimmy Young. He would hone his brutal offence and punish Ali until he KO's him late.

I'm not talking about after Ali vs Frazier.....I'm of course talking about Foreman's second win over Frazier. Foreman came back and KO'd both Lyle and Frazier in 76, right? During that time the talk of a rematch would've been wonderful and made perfectly sense and definitely not a pointless fight.

You had to absolutely dominate Ali to have hopes off getting a split decision in those days. Norton and Young both beat him.

I think Ali knew that in a ring with proper ropes he wouldn't be able to lean all the way back and avoid all those head shots from George. Yes, the ring was tiny which benefitted George, but I think those ropes benefitted Ali even more.

I've seen that fight countless times and I'm always amazed at the outcome. Kind of glad they never did it again because the outcome was so incredible. If they made a second fight it would have detracted from the original result.
