Audley Harrison believes it would be very difficult for a professional boxer to compete at the Rio Olympics "from an infrastructure point of view". Thats why AIBA will slowly change the rules to accommodate the professional boxer. I won't be surprised if the current tournament model is eventually changed so that instead of a 10 day tournament, it'll be something like a two year tournament based on ranking system similar to the current sanctioning bodies. Amateurs will ultimately be locked out of competing in the Olympics.

The whole idea is ridiculous .A fighter serves his apprenticeship in the amateurs and then based on this moves carefully in to the brutal professional game .

Three rounds novices and twelve round experience pros. in the same ring is no help to our beautiful sport and could be highly dangerous for some.
