  • Comments Thread For: Bellew: Haye is Conning The British Public, I'll Beat Him Proper

Tony Bellew fought through adversity to make a dream come true. The Liverpool cruiserweight stopped Ilunga Makabu inside three rounds at Goodison Park to claim the vacant WBC title, exclusively live on Sky Sports. Bellew walked to the ring to a vociferous cauldron of noise at the home of his beloved Everton Football Club but got off to a disastrous start as he was decked in the opening round.

He's making a mistake asking for this and I hope if it does happen that Haye dictates terms we all know Haye is the attraction to this fight happening not Bellew.

It's a cheap way to get a big pay day I guess but if Brigg and Bellew both happen this year I'd be happy with that then later on in 2017 he can fight for a world title.

Same. Haye should not, for a second, allow Tony Bellew of all people to dictate terms. Haye is clearly in the driving seat, he has a much bigger name, stronger following, better pedigree and greater profile.

Bellew has won the vacant WBC title, so what? Haye already owned that belt at cruiser, along with two others, and he didn't beat the number 5 ranked guy to win the title – he beat the unified number 1. Winning this championship has truly gone to Bellew's head if he thinks it's enough to lure Haye back down to 200lbs, a weight at which he hasn't fought in like 8 years. The guy's thick.

If the fight happens, a stipulated weight of 215lbs seems logical. At that weight, Haye would **** out this loudmouth in one or two rounds max. Imagine Bellew taking the shots DeMori and Chisora took? He'd be out before he hit the canvas. And he's far too slow to land bombs on Haye, whose reflexes and footwork will make a mug out of him.

Seems like Bellew is instantly trying to cash out. Doubt he thinks he can beat the cream of the cruiserweight division so wants to try and make a few million fighting Haye.

Maybe Haye-Bellew could feasibly appear as a co-feature to a Joshua title defence at the back end of the year. Would be a decent set-up for a Haye-Joshua fight next spring/summer.

Haye was away for years and had a rebuilt shoulder. Fought 2 guys with great European records who weren't much but stepping stones back to get sharp and up the competition. Joshua,Wilder, Fury the goals for titles and big$ somehow Bellew is briggsing his way into a fight. He has to move up then haye crazy to lose 24 more lbs to fight him at cruiser for lowest payday of the bunch

Not sure why he is focusing on Haye to be honest, i know the money involve is the main reason but he surely can make a decent payday against other beltholders at cruiser. Even a third fight against Cleverly might generate a good payday at cruiser, Haye is a HW and bellew moving up might be too much for him.

I like this fight, but not at cruiserweight. Bellew and haye need to meet somewhere in the middle. 210-15 lbs. I hope this fight comes off.

Lol, wow Bellew must have his eye on a bigger house or paying off his current mortgage early or something... He is desperate to sell his consciousness to Haye.

I predict a December show at o2, with Haye-Bellew and Joshua-Parker as the co-main event. If they clever make it a catchweight so Bellew can keep his WBC cruiser belt and headline the northern shows defending that against nobodies next year...

Ordinarily id say Haye sparks him in 2 rounds. But Bellew battered haye in sparring....interesting!

But if haye comes down he might be drained so Bellew might have a chance.
