AIBA has been talking crazy as of late. I wouldn't mind if Boxing gets banned for these Olympics, maybe it'll teach them a lesson.

Every other sport allows the best athletes to compete. Boxing is the only one that only allows amatuers. So it makes sense in that regard.

The rules have got to be the same for every sport.. Why wouldn't people protest when Nadal, Wawrinka, Djokovic, Federrer faces a novice guy & care only a when a pro boxer does & saying its a dangerous sport & people might get hurt is not a reason its an excuse.. if it is a dangerous sport then why have it??

          Spot on.. Its double standards..

Say in Tennis, would you rather see a kid get beat by Federrer instead? hell no.. Just by dubbing a sport to be dangerous & not allowing the pros in that seems really dumb..

Boo to this. I hope that any pros who choose to compete lose. It's a farce.

Did you mean AIBA boxing being banned from the Olympics?

No it doesnt. This would be like Lebron James playing one on one basketball with a college student. Completely worthless.

What's the problem? Most foreign countries that compete pay their amateurs so they are already semi pros. Could even things up a bit for those that still have real amateurs

Guys like Lomachenko, Rigondeaux were as good as the best Pro's when they were competing at the Olympics as amateurs. "Amateur" and "Pro" isn't a classification of how skilled a fighter is.
