It points to a big flaw in the ratings system to have Canelo as #1 at Mw, right? It's total nonsense. So when your system is spitting out nonsense, you fix it. The Ring policy for stripping champs with no top 5 wins in 2 (?) years is a good start but clearly incomplete. Heres 2 more common sense criteria a lineal champ should meet
1. It's ok to win it at a CW but you better defend at regulation weight
2. You duck consensus #1 contender (eg by forfeiting your belt), you get stripped
Makes a ton of sense, right? And guards against horrific lineal paper champs like Canelo. There's been some sketchy lineal champs before but this gotta be all time worst
