Comments Thread For: Nietes' Promoter To Discuss Possible Juan Francisco Estrada Clash

ALA Promotions president Michael Aldeguer is waiting for WBO light flyweight champion Donnie Nietes, the longest reigning Filipino world champion, to return from a brief vacation with his family in Murcia following his scintillating 6th round stoppage of Raul "Rayito" Garcia last Saturday at the St. La Salle Coliseum in Bacolod City.

Very important for both. If Estrada wins in style it would be bigger win than anything Gonzalez has done.

Gonzalez beat Estrada, never forget that. So anything Estrada does only adds to Gonzalez' accomplishment.

If Nietes can get a win over Estrada it would put him as one of the best light flyweights of all time. His resume is very solid and brings an exciting style to boot.

Estrada if he comes back 100% then I can see him beating Donnie,it'll be a tough fight but this is something HBO should look into if they want to build Gonzalez vs Estrada 2.

Have Gonzalez vs Casimero or Gonzalez vs Ioka and undercard could be Estrada vs Nietes or Estrada vs Arroyo, heck If Gonzalez doesn't fight Ioka then Estrada vs Ioka.

The fights if they go as planned can hype in what would be my pick of FOTY with Gonzalez vs Estrada 2.

Nietes is an old 108 pounder, the longest reigning.... Estrada is a younger, big 112. It would be more credit on Nietes part to make this fight, he would be the underdog, no doubt. No guts, no glory. Go Donnie!

This would be a huge step up in competition for nietes who has played it safe his whole career. Nietes has avoided the best his whole career but it seems like now he wants to fight the best. Estrada easily beats this paper champ who has never been in a important fight.
