New Boxing Weight Class Rules, Titles and Rankings #FixBoxing

Too many title holders means no one knows the real world champions are. Catch weights are preventing major fights from taking place, and always disadvantaging the B side fighter.

Here is a proposal for new weight classes and rules as to who a world champion is etc. It aims to eradicate some of the problems in the sport.

    New Weight classes in Pounds:

    Flyweight 96 - 108
    Bantamweight 108 -120
    Featherweight 120 -132
    Lightweight 132 - 144
    Welterweight 144 - 156
    Middleweight 156 - 168
    Super Middleweight 168 - 180
    Cruiserweight 180 -192
    Super Cruiserweight 192 - 204
    Heavyweight 204 - Unlimited

    Rules:

    -4 Title holders per Division
-Whoever holds 3 titles is proclaimed 'World Champion', so there can only be 1 champion per division
-1 set of rankings per weight class
    - Title holders must face a Top 15 fighter only or face being stripped.
    - Fighters are allowed one voluntary defence within 90 days of winning title, before they must fight mandatory or unify (regardless of injury)
    - Fighters must weigh in and walk into the ring within respective weight boundaries
    - No catchweights
    - Fighters must fight 3 times in 365 days

Hope to have a valid and insightful discussion in this thread. Any ideas how we could make some changes to the these rules, and any potential flaws.

The sport of boxing isn't bigger then the fans. If the fans can make a set of rules that they are happy with, then we get enough signatures and petition news outlets like ESPN to make some noise.

The goal line technology rule in football or soccer was able to come into fruition through fans asking for it.

So guys, what changes can we make. I will keep on editing this opening thread with suggestions that get approval from posters, so we can make one set of rules.

Disclaimer: 4 Title holders per division are needed to satisfy the boxing organisations, and in this case can be used to work out who the world champion is, and to enforce credible mandatory challengers.

Still too many weight classes. Just go back to the original 8.

Get rid of this 4 titles per division stuff. That's the single biggest problem in boxing, I don't care about satisfying the organizations. Have there be only one world champion in each weight class.

How bout we just do like we used to do with some changes with HW since people are bigger now. And just 1 title for sure. I mean if we are playing change the boxing world via our laptops & phones why not just go with 1.

      112, 118, 126, 135, 147, 160, 175, 200, 265 (I don't like an unlimited weight & lets be real how many guy over 265 don't suck?).

I'd have the original weight classes, with the exception of cruiserweight since it's been established and is needed these days more than it used to given the size of some heavyweights.

And of course, one champion per division. Multiple champions causes too many issues with who is champion. Fans can't keep up with all that crap. And frankly, they shouldn't have to.
