Definitely retirement or I should say thats my hope. I hate seeing these great fighters who have turned into regular fighters in their later years who keep fighting. Surely Mosley has learned enough about boxing to work in another avenue of the sport, maybe with his promotion or just focus on training his son & other fighters. I mean cmon how many guys coming up wouldn't wanna work with Mosley every now & again if not exclusively.
whats next for mosley??

i'll preface this by saying that i have no idea how well shane can train a fighter. he might be the next eddie futch, and i'm just ignorant.
but not all great performers are great teachers. shane came up under the tutelage of his father, who as far as i know had no real background as a high level boxing trainer. obviously you learn a ton being around an athlete like that, but the successes of the mosleys weren't due to high level knowledge being passed from jack to shane. if jack passed anything, it would be the freakish athletic talent that shane had. dude was a flawed fighter in his prime technically, but it really didn't matter because of the talent. great speed, power, and an all time great chin.
naazim richardson would have been the guy imparting real boxing wisdom onto shane, but they didn't work together until later in shane's career, and most of what you're doing at that stage in your career is getting in shape and preparing for a specific opponent, not learning new tricks on how to fight.
i hope i'm wrong, but i don't know if shane's got the aptitude for making it as a trainer or a promotor. he was a partner with GBP at one point in time. didn't have much in writing, from what i gather, and got a letter from goldenboy's lawers and a check for $1500 informing him that he was no longer involved with the company. jin took him to the cleaners. he's somehow gone virtually broke, by the look of it. he just doesn't strike me as a particularly bright guy. i wish him all the best, but it's not looking goodComment

shane mosley is not going to school bro i'm sorry. he has no skills outside of boxing and athletics, and like i said in my previous post, we don't know if he's a good teacher. some fighters do not have the capcity to teach. we've basically learned that shane doens't have the capacity to promote.Comment

I wouldn't underestimate Shane; it takes a lot of intelligence to be a great boxer. They're not just "cavemen bashing each other's brains in." Now, whether Shane would be willing to start over so late into his life, and whether the damage he has received has impaired him in certain ways, are different matters altogether.Comment

Oh no I wasn't suggesting he should go into training if he sucks at it. I was merely suggesting that surely Mosley has learned enough or got some connections while boxing to do some job in boxing beyond getting hit in the head. Than I made some suggestions with his promotion or training.i'll preface this by saying that i have no idea how well shane can train a fighter. he might be the next eddie futch, and i'm just ignorant.

Hell man he could do some Michael Olijade boxer workout Youtube channel thing or something idk. I've been saying forever there needs to be more boxing podcasts out there hosted by boxers & Mosley actually has shown himself to be a fair enough entertainer when he talks as of late. Whatever the case there are options out there for Mosley to use his boxing knowledge without getting in the ring in a much inferior state then his prime for money at his advanced age.Comment
