Kov is a beast but nothing of interest to see in their sparring video. They're going half speed for the most part and Jones looks like a marshmallow.....

Jones is like 230-240 in that video, that's a HW you're talking about, he's not fighting some 12 rounder he's fresh. Kovalev was boxing circles around him, took it really easy on him too.

My comment wasn't a knock on Kov. Jones looks like **** in that video. I know physiques don't correlate to skills but that's no excuse to look like a tub of lard. He's a professional fighter and should look like a pro athlete, not a dude who really doesn't care much about his career.

His weight is only beneficial for absorbing Kov's punches, no way is he giving the champ the best work possible.....because he's out of shape!

      Rant over.

Lebedev took what, 10 rounds to get rid of RJJ, I can't even imagine him going more than 4 with guys like Beterbiev or Kovalev. You've also got guys like Tarver and Cunningham on par with each other. I've also seen Beterbiev drop Usyk with body shots and rock him with head gear in the amateurs.

LHW is filled with some bad m'fers.
Its harder to put on quite a bit of weight and maintain the same skill set -including speed and stamina. Beterbiev is another one I don't see staying at 175 for too long. He's even bigger than Kovalev, literally boiling down to the weight. I worry about his chin when he's draining away like that. Cunningham and Tarver are mediocre HW's now, right?

I think its unfair to judge Lebedev based on the Jones fight. The guy has been dominant at cruiserweight. He was blatantly robbed against Huck, one of the most shameful decisions i've seen. Other than the Jones fight where he was cheated, he seems to be hurting guys regularly.

Stevenson doesnt need to gain weight to destroy Bellew at CW
A LHW Stevenson would knock out Bellew at anyweight including heavyweight
Gaining size may help Bellew absorb a shot a little better but not nearly enough to absorb Stevensons power.

Guys like GGG and stevenson hit harder than a lot of heavyweights

Man sparring doesn't mean anything really. I would have to disagree though if Kovalev fought the Jones that destroyed Lebedev I don't see how Jones would get hurt badly. If Jones took the kitchen sink against Lebedev at 200 what makes you think Kovalev would hurt him bad when coming up from 175? The answer: A sparring session.

Bump. Maxim Vlasov moves to cruiser, defeats Chakhiev by TKO.

Like I said, 175 is STRONG

th expanding man lol. If we are going by boxrec stats, he was a welterweight, when he was 24 years old.
I reckon he didnt grow anymore since that age, so at one point he was a 1,93m/6'4 welterweight.

And somehow he weight 240 pounds for his most recent fight haha

Yep. People want to devalue Stevenson's resume, but that is a pretty solid win right there.
