Well this thread went bad pretty quickly
My top 5 Hopkins performances:
1) Antwun Echols 1 - A determined Antwun Echols came out swinging for the fences. The first four rounds were hotly contested, but Hopkins unveiled footwork and boxing skills many didn't know he had and dominated the rest of the bout.
2) Glen Johnson - Hopkins jumped on Glen (undefeated at the time) from the opening bell and never gave him room to breathe. No punch stats were shown, but he probably threw 80+ punches a round. Finally the ref mercifully stopped the beating in the 11th, and Hopkins became the first and only man to stop Johnson.
3) Felix Trinidad - I thought Tito would knock Bernard out, as most of us did. I remember sitting at home watching the fight embarassed as hell as my non-boxing fan friends would look at me from time to time puzzled since I had spent the preceding week hyping Trinidad up.
4) Robert Allen 2 - Critics thought Hopkins had gotten old in the first fight. They thought wrong. One of the best displays of body punching you'll ever see.
5) Joe Lipsey - Lipsey was an undefeated prospect and it was supposed to be a pickem fight. It was competitive for all of one and a half rounds, with Hopkins ending homie's career with an uppercut in the fourth.Comment
